Funny experience ........ On Sunday Jan 23 a booking was made on the Elfde Gebod website for lunch on Monday Jan 24 at 1 PM for 4 persons. Followed by an automatically generated e-mail as a confirmation. All fine and settled: we are fans so happy and looking forward to it. Later that Sunday an e-mail was received from Karl at the Elfde Gebod saying sorry but they are not open for lunch that Monday. OK for me, disappointment all over and funny as well ....... On Monday morning an e-mail was received as a reminder for my reservation for lunch. Automatically generated, obviously. And on Tuesday another e-mal was received asking me about my lunch at Elfde Gebod. We were there before many times and it was fine so I said satisfied and here I am............ telling the funny story. Bottomline: if you decide to change your opening hours you better think it over until the end and change your parameters for automatic generating e-mails............ But no worries, next time we are in Antwerp w'll be there.
The restaurant interior is quite original and there are both private and open table options. The food quality however is poor and therefor overprized. How can you possibly ruin a club sandwich or a croque monsieur: dry and tasteless. Service however quite friendly.
the girls providing the service were very kind, in a natural and relaxed way. The way it should be. Food ok. Matches expectations.
Erg leuk restaurant met zeer vriendelijke bediening en heerlijk eten! Wij komen zeker terug wanneer we weer in Antwerpen zijn.
The food was great en the ambiance was very nice.
How cool is it to be in a historical building in the middle of Antwerp, fully decorated with saints, having a rich menu that constantly refers to religious words in a funny way and having the perfect light, ambiance music, service… with tasty food and awesome beer? Totally recommend it!
Het was super!! Lekker gegeten, leuke bediening in een unieke omgeving! We komen zeker terug!
